Statement of Faith

The Bible: The Bible is the word of God. It is fully true in all it teaches and affirms. It is the Holy Scriptures given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Every Word of God has stood the test of times, thus pure. It is the final authority in measuring every doctrinal truth. (2 Timothy 3:16; 30:5)

The Godhead: There is only one God. The Godhead is made up of the three and distinct persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, often described as the Trinity. Each person of the Godhead is Deity, Divine and eternal. The three persons of the One True God have the same essence and are not inferior or superior to the other in essence. This is a mystery, which cannot be fully comprehended with the carnal mind, reasoning, or intellect. (Deut 6:4; Ps 2:7; Heb 1:1-13; Gen 1:26 Matt 28:19)

Jesus Christ:

  1. The Son of God: Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God the Father (Matthew 16:16-20, Hebrews 4:4)
  2. The image of the invisible God: Jesus is the expressed image of God. Seeing Him physically or spiritual by faith amounts to seeing God (Col 1:15).
  3. His Pre-existence: Jesus Christ exited eternally before creation (John 1:1-2; John 1:14; John 17:5)
  4. His Role in Creation: The World was created through Him. Without Him nothing was made. Together with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, the Word incarnate were the architects of the world (Gen 1:26; Col 1:16).
  5. His virgin birth: Jesus Christ was born of a virgin called Mary in the city of Bethlehem (Matthew 1:16-20)
  6. His divine nature: Jesus Christ is God. He possesses all the divine attribute of omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence. (John 1:1; Matt 28:20, John 5:19, John 8:58; 10:30; 17:5)
  7. His human nature: Jesus Christ was fully human yet fully God. He lived a normal human life on the earth and expressed or experienced various emotions including Joy, pain, hunger, reasoning, will, anger, temptations, and thirst. (Mark 2:8; Matt 4:2; John 19:28; Matt 4; Heb 2:18)
  8. Sinless nature: He is the man born of a woman yet without sin. His sinless nature qualified Him as the perfect Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world. (John 1:29)

Man’s creation, sin and fall: Everyman is created in the image of God. Man was created to have dominion over God’ creation, to worship and fellowship with his creator. Through the sin of the first man Adam, all men are born with a sin nature and are dead spiritually, falling short of God’s glory, thus in need of forgiveness of their sin and salvation. Through the life-giving spirit of the second Adam, Jesus Christ man can be reconciled to God and partake of eternal life. (Gen 1:26; Rom 3:23; 1 Cor 15:45)

Eternal Life: Eternal life is to know God the father as the only true God and to believe in His son Jesus Christ whom he sent. Eternal life is a gift from God in Jesus Christ. Eternal life involves having a permanent relationship with God through His son Jesus while on earth and after resurrection. (John 17:1-5; Rom 6:23; Mark 10:30)

Salvation: We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The mouth makes confession onto salvation having believed with the heart unto righteousness. There is no other name given under heaven through which men can be saved except the name of Jesus. Godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. (2 Cor 7:10; Rom 1:16; 10:10 Acts 4:12)

Sanctification: We have been set apart for God through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. The truth and the blood of Jesus have sanctified us. Sanctification is an on-gong process of God’s work to transform a believer into the perfect image of Christ. (2 The 2:13; John 17:17-19; Heb 13:12,13; Rom 6:11; 12:1; 1 Cor 1:2)
